Six Million Pounds for Ageing
Professor Tom Kirkwood, of the Institute for Ageing and health, has just been awarded 6m from BBSRC/EPSRC to develop a Centre for Integrated Systems Biology of Ageing and Nutrition (CISBAN). The research programme will provide and integrate an unprecedented amount of data on the complex mechanisms of molecular and cellular ageing, and how these processes are affected by nutrition. This is one of the largest grants ever awarded to the Faculty.
