I purchased the Marpac 980 SleepMate for my son, because he always wanted to use mine. It has two speeds & the sound can be adjusted by several means. It is more than adequate & he falls asleep within minutes of laying down, provided the machine is turned-on beforehand. He seems to really enjoy it & I’m glad I purchased it for him.
